A PROPOS DE CORE OF THE COALMAN

(US, République Tchèque) consiste en des continuités et des discontinuités pour viole, voix et circuits, à la frontière de l’ordre et du chaos… Un son varié et parfois habité par des textures explosives, Core of the Coalman met en valeur la physicalité du son et sa relation psychédélique avec le fonctionnement de nos perceptions et de notre environnement.

Expérimental par nature, ce projet a dispensé ses programmes notamment au service des groupes de rock (de Deerhoof à Skullflower), des manipulations électroniques et noise (telles que celles de D Yellow Swans et Wolf Eyes), et des figures célèbres de l’avant-garde (telles que Ikue Mori, Pauline Oliveros et Ghadalia Tazartes), et a participé à des concerts de musique contemporaine tout aussi bien qu’il a pris place dans des musées majeurs ou lors de performances dans des galeries d’art.

(US/CZ, ex-Caroliner) consists of continuity and discontinuity for viola, voice and circuits on the border between order and chaos.. Sonically diverse and sometimes explosive in texture, Core of the Coalman emphasizes the physicality of sound and its psychedelic relationship with our perceptual and environmental mechanics. Experimental in nature, this project has comfortably shared programs with everything from rock bands (from Deerhoof to Skullflower), to power electronics and noise (such as D Yellow Swans and Wolf Eyes), and famed avant-garde figures (like Ikue Mori, Pauline Oliveros, and Ghedalia Tazartes), and has been featured on contemporary classical music concerts as well as in major museums and gallery performances.

Il paraît que... "Expatrié à Berlin, Chad Popple n'en reste pas moins le batteur de Gorge Trio, groupe de rock inclassable et déroutant de chez Skingraft (cependant en veille dû aux activités des autres membres au sein de The Flying Luttenbachers et de Deerhoof...). Chad développe son projet solo, il joue de la batterie préparée et du vibraphone, bien souvent en même temps... de la même façon qu'il alterne composition et improvisation, toujours dans un souci d'énergie et de cassure de rythmes..."

Some say that: "Now living in Berlin, Chad People is anyway the drummer of the band Gorge Trio, a rock band difficult to categorize and ashtoning from the label Skin Graft (nevertheless, idle because of the side projects of the other members within The Flying Lutbatchers and Deerhoof). Chad developps his solo project, he plays prepared drum and vibraphone, often in the same time... the same way he alternates composition and improvisation, always in an energic way and with rhytm breaks..."
